Notes from the 2nd house Low Point

We have few reports from the second passing of the Age Point over the second house Low Point, around age 821. My Age Point recently passed over this milestone (cross inside circle in the chart below) so here are a few reflections.

Of course, the 2nd house relates to possessions and physical matters, and to the planet Saturn.

Around this age 81-82, 2nd house affairs, and notably the physical body, have for many individuals become a preoccupation. Observation shows that the common conversation between people of this age group often features various medical conditions, their limitations and treatment. Statistics show that people in this age group have increasing recourse to the NHS (UK), and this increasing trend continues until death2. My personal experience is consistent with this, as I gain increasing experience of doctors, blood tests, vaccinations and various hospital settings.

But what of the Low Point itself? According to the Hubers, this is a key point of psychologically ‘going within’ to get closer to our soul purpose and prepare to move on to a new phase of life in the 3rd house.

At the low point the impulse-giving forces come to rest, to a standstill.
Life activity is curbed and is directed toward the inner arena. Energies withdraw within. This allows consolidation, deepening, and stabilization. At the low point, a maturing process always occurs, a collection inward for new orientation. Here metamorphosis and preparation for the new starts take place.3

In my case, there is a planet, Jupiter, involved – very close to the Low Point. And Jupiter lies opposite the Moon, representing my feeling self and inner child. New horizons beckon, and these planets seem very significant at this point in time.

The Hubers suggest that the world does not really ‘see’ planets at the LP; they are more tools for going within than for going out into the world.

It is important for us to understand low point positions mainly
in their spiritual-cerebral significances. We can view planets here as
“entrance points” to the inner core.4

The Hubers also suggest that the transition to the new is more difficult in the fixed houses (which includes the 2nd house).5

I will perhaps write more on this in a future post…
