The Seventh Ray

Trish Crawford puts the climate and events of today into a deep esoteric perspective, related to the incoming Seventh Ray.

Having recently attended a webinar from William Meader entitled The Seventh Ray and the Pentagram of Consciousness, I feel inspired to share some of the wonderful insights and wisdom therein. Meader is a teacher of the Esoteric Philosophy and draws his teaching from the works of Alice Bailey and the Tibetan Djwhal Khul. Hence there is a similar origin with Huber Astrology.

In this webinar he discusses the current ongoing transition into the Age of Aquarius, from the previous Piscean Age. The Aquarian Age is ruled by the Seventh Ray, while the former Piscean Age has been dominantly ruled by the Sixth Ray for its roughly 2,000 year duration. And it is to this transition which we can attribute so much of the turmoil and unrest in the world at present. The Piscean Age has held dominance for so long, that it is difficult for it to let go. The Seventh Ray and Aquarius, at its higher levels of manifestation, represent progressive thinking, inclusivity, group consciousness, interconnectedness of all beings, globalism. Pisces and the Sixth Ray, although having love as its basis, has tended towards duality, seeing the world in terms of good and evil, and the resulting separatism. The Crusades are an example – all those who did not adhere to the Catholic faith were deemed ‘evil’, and to be destroyed. Something similar underlies colonialism and slavery, where other cultures were not deemed worthy to exist, and in the case of slavery, not even considered as fully human.

Another contrast is that between the Mystics of the Sixth Ray, and the Practical Mystics of the Seventh Ray. Mystics  isolate themselves from the outer world, believing it to be a contaminating influence. There is a duality and conflict here – spirit and matter. (Hesse’s ‘Narziss and Goldmund’ addresses this). Whereas Practical Mystics see spirit in matter. The need to express and find the spiritual in the everyday. A fusion rather than a duality. The mantra “the highest meets the lowest” is quoted by Meader.

Meader refers to the concept of the ancient fires – the power inherent in old and regressive ideas. Ideas that have run their course and no longer facilitate further growth. So with the gradual withdrawal of the Sixth Ray, we are witnessing the rise of extreme right-wing politics and ideologies as an attempt to cling on to old thoughtforms.

An interesting question was posed in the seminar. Will we inevitably progress in the Aquarian Age? The answer is that it is inevitable, because the Seventh Ray is becoming dominant. And all the upheaval and turmoil we’re witnessing is also inevitable and to be expected. Eventually and slowly we will progress, and we can see this among many of the younger generation – millennials, Gen Z – the urge towards loving, non-judgemental inclusivity. Unity in Diversity.
