This is now an occasional series of charts for the consideration of readers – a bit of practice in top level chart interpretation. Why not give it a go?
This particularly intriguing chart is submitted by Annita More. What do you think?

Please post, as a comment, your initial outline interpretation at the very top level. This should be, say 3-10 paragraphs with, for example:
- What is your intuitive reaction to the chart overall – chart image, shaping, direction?
- What key features might you expect to be of major significance for this person?
- What sort of issues might be arising for the person at this point in their lives?
Others may comment on your interpretation, or produce their own.

I’m surprised no one has had a go at this intriguingly shaped chart. What comes to my mind is a cannon pointing up towards the 10th house, with an insecure base, so in danger of falling over, but perhaps held up by a strange Heath-Robinson device at the top.
The clear polarity on the 2/8 possessions axis suggest there will always be a big theme of personal security and possessions versus the those of larger social groupings. The large red-green figure on this axis looks like an incomplete Irritation Rectangle, a figure with a lot of energy, but little capacity to rest, the clue is in the name. Looked at this way, the ‘hole’ at the bottom of the figure, in house 2, again suggests insecurity. Interestingly, the Crossing Axis is also aligned across this figure.
Looking more closely, the linear figure at the top is disjoint from the ‘Irritation Rectangle’. Here is the only blue aspect, and Saturn in Cancer in 11th house, near Low Point. There may be two modes of operation for this person, perhaps this one is more fulfilling and able to achieve, and closer to the soul’s purpose.
The Age Point is currently passing the top of the cannon and firmly in the grip of that 2/8 conflict. Yet the upcoming encounter with Venus in 2021 will switch focus to the linear figure, soon followed by the encounter with the 8th house Low Point – the LP of the whole chart, which frequently signals a change to a direction more aligned with our true inclinations. The next two years should provide opportunities to resolve the future direction of this life.
Hi Barry! Thank you very much for commenting on my letter. I have been taking an interest in the subject of astrology for a couple of months now. I am quite analytical and also quite needy of understanding, so I try to find ways to understand myself and others.
Many things you say are too technical and mysterious for me, but what seems to be clear in the chart is the sickening paralyzing insecurity that has accompanied me since I can remember. A kind of fear of failure, a fear of not doing things perfectly, which prevents me from being able to finish developing, or even start, some of the ideas that are constantly coming and going in my head. Too many interests, too much dispersion, too many doubts and too much fear of doing it wrong. I suppose also my fear of relating to people… fear of non-acceptance… I’ve left many studies just to start them because of the feeling of not fitting in with the group, being afraid of being judged, emotionally hurt or things like that.
I suppose that because of those same difficulties, dependence, attachment and care for the few things and people in my small circle are something that has always been there. I don’t know how to grow, I don’t know how to take care of myself and I constantly have a feeling of inadequacy while sensing potentials that I will never manage to develop. Instead, I am very capable of listening, helping and giving advice to others, who often claim me as if I were some kind of guru.
When I have looked at things of my sign, or numerology, it always speaks to me of someone who is an entrepreneur, business people who make a fortune… I am far from that. My work has always had to do with artistic disciplines and design, but although it has always been with me, I also have my doubts about its value and whether it is really my path.
I’m not very strong physically and I’m usually exhausted…my head never stops searching, turning things over, jumping from one subject to another…it never rests. That’s what you meant when you talked about “The large red-green figure on this axis looks like an incomplete Irritation Rectangle…” What do you mean by “the clue is in the name”?
I guess I’m in a key moment of existential crisis…I’m 44 years old, I haven’t done anything that normal people are supposed to do…I don’t have children, I live with my parents, I haven’t formed any family, I haven’t had a job for a long time, I’ve been without a partner for a short time (I’ve almost always been with someone by my side) and I have no idea what to do with my life and I don’t know where to start.
What do you mean by “There may be two modes of operation for this person, perhaps this one is more fulfilling and able to achieve, and closer to the soul’s purpose”?
This is it, I hope I haven’t turned your head too much 🙂
Sorry about the English…I don’t speak it very well and I used a translator…Thank you very much!
Hi Annita, Wow, you have revealed a lot about yourself. You are very brave. This isn’t really the forum to go into such great personal detail. Suffice it to say that the chart does suggest some of the things that you describe.
Maybe I was a bit oblique about the Irritation Rectangle – the ‘irritation’ does suggest something that never rests. Technically, the two figures in your chart suggest two ‘modes of operation’, one related to the interconnected Mars, Venus, Saturn, Mercury and the other related to the oppositions in the ‘Rectangle’.
Your chart does suggest that this is a fertile time for change in your life – a time to resolve long-standing issues. You could find it helpful to talk to a counsellor, or to an astrological counsellor. There is a list of English ones on this website under ‘Consultants’. However, this would be more effective in your native language, which I presume is Spanish. Did you know that there are astrological psychology consultants in Barcelona, who trained under the Spanish Huber School? You will probably be able to find and contact one of them if you so wish…
