Our first experiment Chart in Focus #1, has concluded. Here is the second experiment, which again depends on your comments for its success.

Hi! I am just a novice having started studying astrology (foundation) on a self-study basis a few months ago, but I want to have a go anyway.
I get the feeling of a very boxed-in person who perhaps likes routines because s/he is afraid to face the world for some reason. The chart looks very much like my son’s chart who is autistic and likes routines, the more the better.
There are a lot of red lines in the chart which suggests tension and energy, a person who wants to achieve things in life perhaps (achievement triangle).
The ascendant in Sagittarius implies that the person appears outgoing, positive, optimistic, full of oomph and has high ideals and goals.
The Sun in Capricorn implies that the person is prepared to work hard for his/her goals in a disciplined and systematic manner whatever it takes. It could be a long-term plan.
This is how far my knowledge lets me go for now…. any feedback is welcome!
I want to add that this is a very fun, and interactive, way to get more experience, especially for us starting out. Whoever came up with this exercise, I congratulate you!
Thanks for having a go at this, Jo. You’ve made some good observations. It will be interesting to see how more experienced Huberites respond to this or produce their own interpretations.
I can’t resist having a nibble at this one. The large Double Ambivalence figure dominates the chart, iits quadrilateral shape suggesting an overall and probably over-riding motivation for security and stability – but note that beneath it there are criss-crossing linear aspects. It reminds me of a game of pick up sticks on to which someone has dropped a large solid object, messing up the game but making sure they are part of it in no uncertain way! So – someone who wants to be noticed or recognised….there’s quite a vertical pull to this chart.
It’s heavy on red aspects, so he’ll be a do-er. Sun/Jupiter cjn at the apex of the red section of the Ambivalence figure straddle the 2nd cusp. Is he an entrepreneur, a leader of some kind? Both in Capricorn so he’s likely to want to be the boss, yet this could be softened by the aspects to Moon and Neptune on the 4/10 axis, both of them on the Balance Point. Is he a philanthropist/patron of the arts? He’ll want to include both ends of the 4/10 axis in whatever he does, with the North Node possibly presenting more of challenge as he may find it easier to hob nob with those of similar status/standing to himself (South Node in 11th).
There is tension across both 4/10 and 1/7 axes with the oppositions of Neptune and Moon on 4/10 axis of Individuality and Venus/Uranus on the 1/7 axis of Encounter. He can probably swap comfortably between one to one interactions and those demanding a more “public” face. Is he a public person of note, I wonder? Or famous?
With Uranus in 7th and not far from the DC he could come over as being a bit of an individualist – different, doing his own thing – which could make him charismatic. Uranus is on the Balance Point too, and opposes Venus in 1st. He could be a charmer and a sharp talker – Uranus also aspects Mars/Mercury.
Saturn is intercepted in 9th and has only one aspect; might he be less confident than he shows to the outside world? Maybe have doubts about his own abilities?
With his current Age Point in 12th edging towards the AC, and in his early 70s, he could be reaching a stage in life where he cares less about what people think of him because – if he’s learned anything in his first circuit of all the planets in his chart – he’ll hopefully be happier in his own skin, warts and all.
This chart looks like one of those spiky balls that can happily roll along in whatever direction it chooses. Although it has a 4-sided figure (Double Ambivalence figure), there is a dynamic feeling due to the criss-crossing linear figure.
That Double Ambivalence figure seems, however, to be the most important feature. There is probably a fluctuation between periods of intense work on the red side and periods of relaxation and consolidation on the blue side. The strong Capricorn Sun/Jupiter conjunction on 2nd house cusp may suggest success in achieving a stable position in society, but the involvement of Neptune and Pluto in the figure mean this may not be in a conventional way.
The Moon is the link between all the planets; so it is particularly important to listen to feelings in reconciling conflicting elements in the personality. The Moon square Sun may indicate an ‘interesting’ relationship with father, and its opposition to Neptune, the highest planet, suggests possible conflict between personal and spiritual dimensions of love.
Age point is approaching the AC and completion of the first cycle round the chart – a time when all potentials have been explored to some degree and there is the experience to set out on new ventures with the confidence of that experience.
Chart Image: a loud speaker with a cap or muffler over it. Perhaps indicating someone with a lot to say who feels the need to soften their words.
Double Ambivalence Figure: This is someone who experiences an inner conflict. They’ll either work hard on solving it or try to escape it by doing something they enjoy. They can’t do both. They’ll be forever switching from full on, to full off. The conflict is generated by the Moon – Neptune opposition on the 4/10 axis and comes from a clinging to past, imperfect human conditions, whilst on a mission to single-handedly save the world and make it a better place of all.
Alternately, they’ll use the red planets at the apex of the Achievement Triangle to solve the conflict by confidently building an open-minded, generous and friendly outlook and by acquiring wisdom and knowledge they’d love to share with the world ( Sun-Jupiter in 2nd), or they’ll use the blue planet at the apex of the Ambivalence Triangle (Pluto in 8th/9th) to avoid the tension by endeavouring to ‘improve’ others and their beliefs, albeit in a relaxed, peaceful way. Or, if spiritually aware, to change, expand and improve (transform) their own thinking and character.
With Saturn also in the 9th house, only way they’ll feel secure in life is by learning to take responsibility for thinking for themselves and not to trust what others believe. In striving for this aim, if their energy doesn’t fizzle out, they may eventually learn to trust what they’ve worked out for themselves (Linear aspect).

Well I was impressed with the accuracy of the interpretations. First of all the comments by Jo are appreciated. She is a beginner who recognized correctly that I am an achiever and somewhat boxed in. I am overall optimistic and positive; working hard to realize my ideals and goals. Yet, I am spontaneous and impulsive sometimes and able to speak my mind. I am a good debater.
Joyce is right on to point out need for balance as I consider both sides before acting.(Double ambivalence) For years I was in the ‘closest’ about my astrology because I worked in a system as a psychotherapist that was very conservative and feared exposure would label be a crank. Yet I continued studying astrology since 1970 and took several courses. (Green quincunx in the Double Ambivalence figure). I have my own private psychotherapy practice and am a CEO (ha ha -of one person); I was a chief of master level clinical social workers for 10 years.
My subordinates saw me as being a fair boss interested in their professional development on the whole.
Barry is correct to point out that the Moon ties everything together and my feeling values are the pinpoint and my inner child (Moon in 4) determines how I will expand or not on Neptune ( in 10th house) radar for picking up impressions, inspirations, etc. Saturn in 9 make my bias in spirituality to be somewhat of an Old testament moralist and I do hatha yoga to develop my inner peace through years of practice ( I have an anxiety problem). My post on Neptune highlighted my conflict in determining personal vs. impersonal loving and was reinforced by my relationship with Dad who was an alcoholic.
Marilyn had identified the Moon- Neptune energy, at one time clinging to the past (I am a genealogy fanatic) vs. going out and serving others to make a better world. I am very confident in semi-retirement now and promote my ideas with ease hoping to inspire others if possible.
My dream life has been an inspiration for me as I have developed my self-understanding throughout my whole life. Thus 2 books on Dreams and Astrological Psychology. Integration is my forte bringing together an astrological understanding of people as a ‘people watcher’ (Node in 5th house) with a psychotherapist’s Jungian understanding of deep psychology of character.
